FunWritR
Language Learning & Technology Research Group
A web-based application enabling a child to experiment and play with writing through explorations of images and semantic relationships. Funwritr is a mashup utilizing APIs, such as Flickr and GoogleSpell and the lexical database WordNet to create an open-ended environment supportive of language play for elementary school grade students. Funwritr is the project of the Language Learning & Technology Research and Design Group at the University of Texas at Austin School of Education. My main role consists of interface and interaction design. The project is currently in the development phase but we plan to test and collect research data in schools by the end of the semester.
